Assignments for next year's slide competitions in Detroit:

11 Sep: OPEN #1
09 Oct: NOSTALGIA (Images reminiscent of "yesteryear" or "the good old days"
13 Nov: FESTIVALS (Tulip, Freedom, Jazz, Renaissance, Okoberfedst, etc.)
11 Dec: TRANSPORTATION (Cars, boats, escalator, rollerblades, whatever moves
you!)
08 Jan: SPIRITUAL (Religious activities, places of worship, symbols, etc.)
12 Feb: PATTERNS (Repeating of multiple shapes, figures, designs, etc.)
12 Mar: ALONG THE ROAD (Roadside images; signs, drive-ins, mailboxes,
fences, etc.)
09 Apr: TABLETOPS ("Still life" setups' glassware, flowers, food, models, etc.)
14 May: OPEN #2
11 Jun: SLIDE OF THE YEAR

As I have said before, I love this system of assignments... They have helped me 
become a better photographer by exploring a variety of subjects.

If you have any ideas for the above assignments, fell free to share them
with me so I can move ahead of the competition... And, boy, the competition
has reached unprecedented heights in Detroit... Gone are the days that you
get along with mediocre work... Now one's top work in not enough... You need
both good slides and plenty of luck!
