DR. T. to the rescue! Have you heard of the Stereo Realist?!?!?

(My sincere apologies to Dan Shelley and others in this list who get tired
of listening to me preaching the Realist way to an unsuspected victim...
but I really cannot help it when I read these questions... I MUST respond...
I MUST declrear my faith to the Realist system and help this lost soul find
its way to 3-D PARADISE!!!!)

OK, back to the subject. IMO (abbrv: "In My Opinion") the best 3-d camera
that money can buy today is a STEREO REALIST 3.5, with the Kodak Stereo a
possible second.

Why?

Because for about $100 you are getting a solid (yes, solid, made mostly from
cast iron and very little aluiminium or plastic, you drop it and it won't
break) stereo camera (yes, it is stereo alright, two lenses, shutter, designed
to take two pictures at once) with excellent lenses that will serve you for
many years to come.

OK, you got a Realist or equivalent stereo camera. What do you do with it?

Simple. You use it to take stereo pictures. These cameras were made to
take slide film. No special processing is required but the pictures are not
standard 35 mm size so if you want to get prints, you will have to consider
potential problems with standard printing. With slides there is no problem
since mounting supplies, viewers, and projectors are still available for the
so-called "Realist format".

Where can you find these cameras?

Camera shows, 3-d dealers (some of them in this list...) advertisements in
Shutterbug or Stereo World, etc. BTW ("By The Way"), let me clarify something
here: I do buy/sell/trade these cameras and I specialize in Realist stuff.
That does not make my opinion biased. It is the other way around. Opinions
come first and actions follow... Because I have been using stereo cameras
since 1988 and because I am very happy with my Stereo Realists and the use
of the "Realist format", and because I have seen people around me try the
system and get (almost) as hooked at I am, I try and promote the system and
try and provide cameras and supplies that I use and like. Period.

OK. Dr. T has spoken. Who's next? ;)

PS. I think the proper spelling is "camera". "Camara" sounds like a Greek word
(of Italian origin?) that means "small room". My dictionary defines the origin
of the word "camera" as latin, meaning room, chamber. "Camera" must have been
derived from the "Camera Lucida" (light chamber)...
