Hi,
Bill Burns asked for opinions on the TDC Colorist.
I found one at a swap meet about six months ago and it's quickly becoming my
camera of choice. I started with a Realist 3.5. I liked its lenses and
tank-like construction but I could not get used to its left-handed shutter
button or its failure to automatically cock when advanced. Also, I had an
early model without double exposure prevention and I was always afraid of
only _thinking_ I had advanced the film, cocking the shutter, and producing
unintentional "art" (although this rarely happened). My next camera was
(and still is) a Revere 33. It's solidly built and solved the problems I
was having with the Realist. Its parallax correction level was bothersome
at first until I realized it really didn't make much difference which
setting it was on. I still love the Revere but now I also have a TDC
Colorist II (the model with the rangefinder). It doesn't seem as sturdy as
a Realist or a Revere (a case would help), but I find it much better built
than a Kodak.  Its shutter speeds are B, 10th, 25th, 50th, 100th, and 200th;
apertures from 3.5 to 16. I think what I like most about the TDC is that
the rangefinder and the viewfinder are combined, thus eliminating what, for
me, was a time consuming step.
All of the above is, of course, IMO.

Don
