how to shift your eyeballs outwards.

This is simple, most people don't realise that they do it everyday of their
lives... for instance, if you're reading something and then someone who's
a few meters away asks you something, then you would normally look up at
them. for your eyes to focus on the person they have to diverge... or go
outwards, just a little, it's very subtle and you wouldn't realise you're
doing it.

I have a friend who couldn't see sirds images which I had made myself.
so he tried to physically move his eyes with his fingers!
[don't try this at home kids].

when looking at 3D photos [stereo pairs] or sirds [magic eye images]
you have to try to look through the paper, this is a difficult thing to
convince your mind to do... if they printed sirds on glass it would be much
easier for people.

what I did once was try to make a teaching aid out of a business card with
two small holes punched through it at eye to eye distance.
hold the card over your face as if you were wearing a party mask and focus
on something like a poster on the wall...
slowly move the card away from you without taking your eyes off the poster.
when you get about half an arms distance away from your face it will seem
as though you are looking through just one hole [provided the poster is still
in clear focus... do NOT look at the holes, just the poster!]
then once you realise what you are doing try to hold the card at the same
distance while focusing on the poster and notice how the holes seem to merge
together, this is divergence... moving your eyes outwards and is very easy.

once you understand how to do this then looking at stereo pairs or sirds
is dead easy! :)

Wolfie!
