About the term "camera". It is nice to see that you folks can all read the Britannica. If you check the OED (Oxford English Dictionary, the supreme etymological source), however, you will find that the original drivation of the word camera is the ancient Greek word "Kamara" meaning vault or chamber. This word was the source for the much later Latin word from which "camera lucida" and "camera obscura" were both derived.
