->I have acquired two Olympus SLR's and have mounted them on a bar.
->Am looking for a way to electronically synchronizing these, maybe thru
->a pair of Winder 2's. Anyone with experience with this arrangement, I
->would sure appreciate hearing from you.

I have a pair of OM10 cameras on my twin rig. The shutter releases are
linked, but NOT electronically (or even electrically!). It is possible
to link power winders electrically, of course - you just need a couple
of mini jack plugs and a bell push! Gets rather heavy, though, with
those power winders...

My version is, however, related to power winders. You see, under the
base plate of the cameras is a secondary shutter release. It's used by
the power winder when you push the button. The pin on the winder moves
along the camera. I simply arranged to have two pins - one for each
camera - linked on a bar that slides WITHIN the bar that the cameras are
mounted on. The linked shutter release is on the right hand end of the
bar and is pushed in with my right hand. the synchronisation is
remarkably accurate I've adequately synched the flame during inflation
of a hot air balloon!

I don't really have time to make up a full "how to do it" article, but
it's reasonably intuitive, once you understand the method.

My synching bar is made of two pieces of aluminium angle with a piece of
aluminium bar sandwiched between them. There is a lip pointing up at the
back the locates the cameras. Its shaped so the backs can be opened.
There's a small gap between the cameras so both backs can be opened wide
enough for loading. The bar with the pins is cut from the middle bar and
so slides in the slot made by its removal. etc etc

Best of luck - you can make a very elegant twin rig this way!
