On stereo vcr's I happened by chance to run across a short paragraph
from a '93 magazine about it (although at the time, it just said
you could record two pictures at the same time - it didn't go into
detail). At that point it is/was called W-VHS (and was mentioned in
connection with HDTV in Japan as well).
