I have a Teco-Nimslo. I have shot with it, but I have been to
busy to develope the roll yet. I will dedicate a page of my
web site to the close-up images when I get the time. Here are
the questions some one asked and my answers:
1.Can someone please explain how this four lens camera uses the film? Does
it
record four pictures on one frame or two?
-A: It simultainiuosly 4 images on what would be considered 2 normal
35mm frames. (4 perf as apposed to the 5p for REALIST or 7p EURO)
2. If you block-out two lenses can you make a regular stereo-pair on one
frame (in correct
order for viewing?). Does it take the stereo-pair on two seperate
frames
(seperate pictures?).
-A: If you get the TECO-NIMSLO it will come with an atachment to block
the 2 middle frames from being exposed, or if you get a TECO
close-up attachment for 6" or 12" it will block the outer 2.
3. Can anyone explain the Teco-Nimslo and how it uses film? I was told it
advances
differently so that you don't waste half the film. However, the
stereo-pairs are in reverse
order or something and would have to be cut and pasted to get the
correct order?
I'm lost!
-A: The TECO-NIMSLO is adjusted from a regular nimslo, so that it
will only advance one standard film frame (moving the 2 half
frame pairs over the right amount). If you want to have slide
pairs and lenticular prints shot on the same roll you will have
to advance it twice when you take the lenticulars.
4. If you didn't care about wasteing film (I don't) would it be better to
get a regular Nimslo? Will the
Macro attachments fit a regular Nimslo?
-A: You could try to cut a notch in a NIMSLO to put the attachment
into, but I wouldn't recomend it. Besides if you shoot a lot,
being able to shoot 36 stereo pairs in stead of 18 on a 36 roll
will save you quite a bit of money in the long run.
5. I was also told it makes a difference about what kind of film was used.
Something about Chroma
or Kodachrome or something would reverse the image or ......I have no
-A: I am using RGB negative film, because you need to be able to have
prints made, but thay can also make slide film from your negs.
If you only plan on shooting slides, and don't want to make
lenticular prints, then use the RGB or slide film.
If you buy the TECO-NIMLSO from TECHNICAL ENTERPRISES, as I did,
they will send instructions on how to use the camera and what film
to use. Mine even came with the original box, and instructions from
NIMLSO. I am assuming that would be the case for every one, but you
would have to check with T.Enterprises to be sure.
