Well, here's another county heard from: I've used both Kodak Servies V
"skylight" and "Kodachrome haze" filters on a View-Master Personal, and
found that the extra un-coated surfaces caused annoying ghost images
especially in contrasty scenes and scenes with bright hi-lights (e.g.,
glints of sunlight on auto chrome).

On this camera, I expect it happens because the camera has built-in filters
in front of its shutter blade openings. I haven't tried the same filters
on my Realist-format cameras yet -- if I did, it would be for the sake of
lens protection, not image quality improvement.

Series V filters show up at the Chicago area shows from time to time, even
in multiples (pairs). I'd be happy to keep my eyes open for them if
someone sends a wants list.
