Modifying the Loreo
- From: P3D George Snowdon <gsnowdon@xxxxxxxxx>

In Digest 0832, April 1995, Andrew Crawford described how
he had got rid of a lot of unwanted glare and reflections by
blackening the non-functional mirrored surfaces of the Loreo.
His instructions are available - with photo illustrations -
at his Web page at
http://www.tisco.com/3d-web/cameras/loreo.htm
I'm no technician, but I followed Andrew's instructions
quite successfully, with the kitchen table as my
workbench. The only equipment needed was a little
screwdriver, a cereal bowl (for holding the parts)
and a sturdy toothpick (for stirring the paint). Oh, and
paint and paintbrush, of course.
Now, if only somebody can tell me how to find and fit
a pair of better lenses, my Loreo would become a really
good little camera.
Suggestions or info will be welcome.
Are Nishika lenses made of glass, like the ones in
the Nimslo? And if so, can they be removed and put into
the Loreo?
And now, glowing with technological success, I'm off
to try and improve the compression on my lawnmower....
It won't start, and the grass is beginning to look very 3D.
George in the Okanagan Valley, where fruit trees -
and grass - grow like crazy.
