Lenticular

The cover of ID/International Design magazine, March/April 1996, features
a 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" lenticular computer-generated image of a human skull,
produced by Image Technologies. The lenticular screen used for this image
is so fine that it is invisible from a reading distance of 12". It is
also nearly undetectable by touch - only sweeping a fingernail
horizontally reveals that the surface is not smooth. Does anyone know
anything about this "higher definition" lenticular technology?
