Court Jester of viewer repair?/NSA 1997

I need to be clear on one key thing re repairs and modifications-- I only
do this sort of thing for myself-- I never take in repair work. If you
knew how many hours a night of sleep George gets, you'd know why. :)
The second thing is that I'll never be as good as George fixing viewers--
I don't have his depth of knowledge or experience. Without his books, I'd
be lost. Again, these texts are essential parts of a stereo library.
Email him for a current listing of titles in print, but I think the
available titles are 1. Kodaslide 1&2 2. Realist Red Button 3. Realist
Green Button 4. Viewmaster Model D Focusing Viewer
But I do believe in experimenting, and sharing the info-- good bad and
otherwise, so I post the results. Also, in support of the sharing of
information, I have a tentative approval from John Waldsmith, NSA program
co-ordinator) for a workshop/gathering of people who like to do hands-on
modifications and repair of stereo gear. It's scheduled for the 1997
(repeat, ninety-seven!) NSA in Bellevue, Washington. The time is Saturday,
July 5, 1997 1:00 - 4:30pm.
Anyone out there interested in participating please contact me. It would
be good to get some dialog going as to what takes place. It would be a
perfect forum to discuss optical theory and applications, as well as the
hacksaw and Dremel tool things I tend to do. People would be encouraged
to bring examples or slides of their work.
SEE YOU AT NSA IN BELLEVUE, WA IN 1997!
