Viewmaster Allignment

Here's a question for true Viewmaster technologists.

I have noticed on my uncut VM rolls that one exposure of each pair is
consistently 0.25 mm lower than the other. Now, they saw that the
cutter is accurate to within 1 mil (0.001 inch or about 0.025 mm).
The error my camera is giving me is ten times the tolerance of the
cutter, and it is a vertical error, which in stereo is especially
noticeable. That is why Realist made those wonderful, special Al
mounts which were designed to make sure that the vertical allignment
was as near perfect as possible.

0.25 mm is considerable in a tiny Viewmaster chip. So, the question
is, how can this be adjusted? If anyone knows, please e-mail me.

Also, I would be interested to know if this is a common problem. Has
anyone else noticed it?

Forgot to mention that I have the old VM camera. It also vignettes
slightly (I've heard that they all do that).
