Cheap idea no. 138.5
I know it isn't ideal, but I use a pair of polarising sunglasses.
The lens seperation is right, they have a neat little bracket to hold, and
you can place them in front of any camera (you may have to reverse them if
the 'universal mount' gets in the way).
The orientation of the polarisation is fixed, but it is really
easy to get a preview!
Allow two stops, or place in front of your light meter (SLR camera)
to get a reading.
I thought all budget stereogophers did this!

PS; If you have flip-up clip-on polarising shades, you can make a
Realist-style system, and use that third hand for something else :)
- turn that style error into a classic design. :O)
