Yes, it looks just like a stereo viewer from the outside, except for the 
narrow slot that is only 2 inches wide for 2x2 slides. It had front 
surface and beam splitting mirrors to let each eye look at the mono 
slide. This has as optical illusion, similar to that in viewing a slide 
imaged by a concave mirror (another view design I have somewhere), of 
"depth". This is also the effect using a large magnifying glass to view 
a prints with BOTH eyes. The Bi-lens viewer was better than a lot of the 
simple viewers, but I suppose fell out of favor because of bulk and dust 
on the mirrors hard to get at. BobH
