Toshiba Camcorder adjustments
The inter-ocular distance for the Toshiba is about 50mm. One camera assembly
may be swung side-to-side; the other up-and-down. This allows both adjusting
the stereo window by convergence (with it's concomitant keystoning), and
making the views vertically coincident. Toshiba saved themselves a lot
of engineering cost by making it fixed focus, avoiding a tandem focusing
mechanism.
For closer focus than about 5 feet, the use of reading glasses in front of the
lenses is a simple solution.
The electronics to produce such a field-sequential camera are straightforward
provided the two cameras used can be synchronized (gen locked).
