Bizzare Effect.

I gave this a spin a long time ago, but thought you guys might like the idea.

It's not really 3D but may produce a strange feeling of 3D-ness.

You have a robotic camera arm which records position code onto the same
tape which it's recording on. you put a person into a chair and the camera
tracks a path around their head.

The person can look at the camera, infact it might me more "eerie" if they
did.

then, without disturbing the camera, you replace the person with a monitor
[video] and playback the image and allow the camera to track the exact same
path as beforehand [reading from the tape being played].

the camera would need to be recording onto another machine this time.

I feel this would be a strange effect which would be best used in music
videos.
