Re: 3D or RELIEF ?

When I was at the Futuroscope a couple of weeks ago,
I heard this expression for the first time.
(Ici il y a le "Cinema en Relief".)
In Germany we have the same expression ("Relief", n.),
but this usually refers to a (framed) piece of art work
made of stone, with chiseled figures.
We don't use this expression in the context of 3-D,
because it is not as colorful and vivid as real 3-D.
But the longer I think about it, it obviously seems
to fit, because in most 3-D images you only see the
surface, but you can't walk around the object (unless
you watch a hologramm). This is also true for a "relief".
