Realist Loading Problem - Stupid Me:

Jerry Gore wrote that he "followed instructions" and still his Realist ate
up his roll of film.

   If you look at the illustration in the Realist instructions, the sprocket
shown in figure 12 doesn't have the metal plate above the gear. Initially,
the cameras just had a slotted pressure plate, and the film went past the
gear, but I suspect it slipped, a no-no for 3D alighment. So, then the
little plate was added against the sprocket, and future instructions and
updates do state that the film must be guided beneath the little metal
plate, over the gear, and then into the take-up spool.
   I've even found a "leader" made of paper in some Realists, which was
placed inside the camera when sold, and it tells the user how to insert the
film under the sproket plate.


   So, the instructions were correct when written AND Jeffery did follow
them correctly.
