Wlad of Ottawa Cannada wrote about the Nimslo which had the batteries
reversed by its previous owner. This may have been intentional as
apparently this is a way of geting a "B"setting with a Nimslo although I
think its supposed to depend on whether it a Japanese rather than UK model.
I have never tried it myself as I found my own method which is to short out
the two pins in the hot shoe or the smaller pin and the metal surround. You
are of course supposed to put the batteries back the right way afterwards
so perhaps if left for some time with the shutter cocked and perhaps the
button depressed by the case damage would be done. Did Wlad try correcting
the batteries and trying the camera? perhaps the person who bought it found
that it worked after all.
The problem he describes with his own Nimslo sound like the "B" setting
you get by reversing the batteries is he quite shure he has not done this
himself ?if not have the wires in the hot shoe become shorted accidentaly.
As in my own method for getting a "B" setting. P.J.Homer
