EMDE binder frames for Glass Mounted Slides

Hello fellow 3-d'ers,
I talked with Dennis Sherwood of S&D Enterprises, the manufacturer of
EMDE products.
Even though he is closing up shop, he has a supply of Aluminum binder
frames that he will degrease and package up if he got 5 orders.
Otherwise he says it's just not worth his time.
This may be your last chance to stock up on these wonderful frames
before they become (permanently?) unavailable new. He is out of the
EMDE glass, (except for some expensive anti-newton glass) but says the
Reel 3-d plain wrap glass will fit them.
The price is $14.95 for a box of 100, plus shipping. If you mount
slides in glass for protection, these are simply the most elegant way
to bind the glass pieces together. They look great with albion
aluminum masks.
I am not affiliated with Mr. Sherwood in any way, and honestly he has
given up because of poor sales (he hasn't done much in the way of
advertising, though). The machinery he uses to make the binder frames
is still in good shape, though it is correct that the dies to make the
EMDE masks worn out.
So, if 5 people e-mail to me (scooter@xxxxxxxxxx) their interest in
getting what may be the last of EMDE binder frames, I will forward his
address and phone number, and then we can all send in our orders at
the same time. I'm hoping he will reconsider his decision, and at

least try to keep his binder frame operation going. I think it's
going to be a hard sell, though. At $14.95 per 100, I don't think
there's a heck of a lot of profit, especially since he is not selling
EMDE masks anymore. (He does have a supply of medium masks left,
though).
It would be nice to hear of other people's experiences with these. I
just love 'em.
regards,
Steve Owsley.
