If you go to Rochester, look at the available options for glass
mounted slides. You will see a wide variety of mounted slides. Of
those I know of, there are:

RBT's (A lot of people like these). They are expensive, and have
glass on one side only or not at all, and who knows how the plastic
will hold up in the years to come. They do look nice and feel good in
the hand. I personally find them a lot of trouble to use and get my
chips aligned properly in.

Glass with Albion masks, bound with Mylar tape. Not very elegant, but
cheap. Might trap moisture inside. Protect well against dust and
fingerprints.

Glass with EMDE binder frames: Look great, feel nice, allow slides to
"breathe" while protecting from dust and fingerprints. You have a
choice of using either the Albion masks, available in several
different sizes, or the old Realist, Sigma or EMDE aluminum masks.

Of all the choices, and I've seen examples of all of 'em, count me in
for using EMDE binder frames for my best slides, the ones I want to
protect and/or project. These are very well finished, and the most
elegant way I know of to show off your best work.

E-mail me (scooter@xxxxxxxxxx) if you want to place an order with
EMDE. I have two responses already. Dennis said he would sell more
frames if he got a minimum of 5 orders.

Again, I have no financial stake in this. I just hate to see a good
product disappear.

Wishing I could see you in Rochester :-(

Steve Owsley.
