Much Ado about EMDE

Hi all,
 
There has been a few messages posted lately about the state of S & D 
Enterprises, manufacturer of the EMDE stereo mounts.  I spoke to owner
Dennis Sherwood a few days ago to clarify the situation.  EMDE is not
quite dead yet, but Dennis is putting the business in hiatus.  S & D
has been seeking investors to put up $1000 a piece to try and purchase
new dies for the entire EMDE line (except for the 7-perf mounts).  The
new mounts would use the same design as the existing 7-perf mount and
would allow for a wide range of adjustments to be made.  The costs for
the new dies and equipment were estimated to be $10,000.  Unless the
money to do this project is found the Realist format EMDE mounts will
be gone forever.  The 7-Perf mounts may remain in production if 
enough people are interested.  (EMDE makes 2 7-perf mounts, a standard
7-perf mount and the close-up Donaldson mount.)

If you can't invest in EMDE, offer to purchase mounts if they come back into
production.  Write or call and offer your support.  If you don't, these
valuable mounts will be gone forever.  There is still time to save EMDE, but
YOU must act.  No one else is going to come along and do this.  It is going
to have to be a collective effort.
