NSA '96 is history

Okay, we're back...and Rochester no longer hosts the NSA! For everyone
that needs to know (next year we'll probably wonder about the Washington
show), you all missed:

A great exibit at Eastman and an interesting talk by a Kodak rep (or so I
hear, I was busy selling). You missed a friendly town with less than 10
people on the street at any one time--even in the heart of town (although 1
of those 10 did say to John..."give me all your money or I'll shoot
you"...luckily it was a local crazy with no gun). The river that runs next
door (not as big as Cincinnati, but lots closer than the one in Hackensack).
The restraunts that close at 10PM or earlier, and probably should!
You missed a Holiday Inn that is going to be torn down in three
months...so they haven't vacuumed the rugs in the corridor or rooms for 4
months. The chairs are so filty and smelly that Anna had me bring a packing
blanket in from the van, so she could sit on the chair in our room! (I was
afraid to look at the mattress and pillows). Our tub didn't work well--but
they fixed that.
You missed a convention center that was a block from the hotel, but
actually very easy to get to. But the old Hotel elevators made you wait 10
minutes on each trip, just to get to the Skywalk. You missed a convention
room that constantly HUMMED so damn loudly that you had to shout to the
customers. And, a center which had NO ramps to load and unload--only a dock
which was 5-1/2 feet high (just in case you brought your tractor-trailer).

BUT...you missed camers, viewers, projectors (at least 30), Nimslos,
Steinheils (at least 8), Realists and Kodaks by the dozens (but we managed
to sell ALL of ours), Videons and Hits and Wollensaks and Reveres and lots
more. You didn't miss my HEAVY ortho-viewer--I brought it back home!!!
Trillions of stereo slides of Betty Page to Joe's grand-mother to Andrew's
dreams, vacationlands and houses, a skillion stereo cards (yes Virginia,
people actually do LIKE cards--I can't figure out why).
AND you missed Anna and I, Davd Burder, Mary Ann and Wolfgang, Dalia and
Andrew and her kids and cat, Dr T, Willie, John and Gordon and Jim and...the
list go on. There's always tons more socializing than dealing...but...we're
home. Time to answer the "WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU???" calls.
