There are special high temp epoxies. I'd go the extra mile and look for 
one of those. Try a large auto supply (not a retail, discount) or a 
bearing distributor. Call Loctite and and see who sells their industrial 
products nearby. They'll probably sell high temp epoxies. Check Thomas' 
Register online or in the library. 
        If it's the metal socket for a bulb (does this part you're fixing 
conduct electricity?), I'd try to replace it. Get the number of the lamp 
and call the large wholesale lamp distributors. 
        Soldering is not a real practice in high temp or high current 
locations. You could try a good projector repair person, call a large 
rental house, ask who they use locally.
        A lot of this depends on what and where you're repairing. H Poster 
has a good reputation, his opinion should carry a lot of weight.
