Actually, I'm pretty sure I've sold 3 Contura's...! They usually suffer from
the same flaws, look great but poor overall quality. Of course, when I had
them, they were worth about $800 :(
Aledgedly, there were around 100 made, and distributed, and I've heard of
a dozen or two over the years. However, I was told in Rochester that a
substantial cache turned up, and although they are only parts, they will be
assembled. Maybe so, maybe not!
It's got to be the most beautiful, with the chrome and brass finish, broad
and, well just different. The one in Rochester actually had the case, which
I had never heard of before. Maybe that's why he wanted the extra $1,000... ;)
PS..I've had over 12 Macros over the same period...for some reason I kept
track of the serial numbers. I bought and sold #025,250 twice! The numbers
range from 025,098 to 025,261, plus at least two of the all black
"prototypes" that were assembled from parts about 7 years ago. If I knew
then....
