Re: NSA Convention Locations

Count me as a supporter of conventions that are a little closer to my home (Los Angeles). I go to Vegas about 3-4 times a year for conventions, and certainly wouldn't mind traveling the route one extra time for NSA. However, I echo the sentiments of avoiding the town in the summer. Temperatures of over 100 are common, though EVERYPLACE is air-conditioned. On the other hand, there are some terrific "desert" stereo opportunities surrounding the place (I keep meaning to stop along the road and get some 3D shots of Joshua trees), and you can take a half-hour trip to Henderson and sneer at the American 3D building.
Austin also sounds like a good idea. I'd probably drive (about a two-day journey for me) - but actually, anywhere in the mid-west sounds best, and if it's to be the summer, the more north, the better! I think I'd pass on Salt Lake City, though. Nice temple, but what else is there (besides, of course, the Great Salt Lake)?
