Photo-3D / View Magic

My internet provider has just given us 5 Mb of web space to play with, so I
thought I might hone my HTML skills and build some web pages.
 I've been experimenting with some scanned prints (for free-viewing) but to 
improve quality I have put some of my slides in for conversion to 
Photo-CD. It took a while and a phone call (to the lab) to convince the 
guy behind the counter that the Photo-CD scanner should be able to handle 
a 5-perf chip in a 2x2 mount but we got there in the end.

Have you any experiences of photo-CD ? Either the scanning service or its 
use / conversion. 

Also is there a good reason why no one has put some View-magic shots onto
the web ? 

It seems to me that (from an internet point of view) free-viewing is good 
for tall thin images (portrait) and View-magic would be good for 
wide (landscape) images.

Any comments (or View-magic sites)?
