What? Another Rochester convention report?

I know that the convention has been over for more that a week now, but I
loved Rochester so much that I stayed an extra week. Actually I did not
like the town of Rochester to much ( humidity being the main complaint ), I
did stay there an extra week because I was staying with friends that I am
working with on some 3-D projects. Any way I am back in Callifornia now,
and here is my feelings on the convention.

The bottom line is that I had a great time. I got to talk to some friends
that I met at last years convention, such as the one and only king of viewer
repair(Dr. T), Harry Poster (always with the witty one liners), Ron Labbe
(also quite the joker), Joel Alpers, and a few others. I also got to speak
with some good friends that I only get to see on a few occasions like the
master of good deals and rare View-Master stuff(Dalia Miller), and my good
buddy Jamie Drouin ( whose absolutely fantastic professional V-M reel
brought a sparkle to many a 3-D fan's eyes at the convention, I recomend you
all buy it before he sells out). And of course I got to talk at length with
abunch of new 3-D friends most of which seemed to be members of this very
list, such as Alex Klien, Radio Guy (BOB STERN), and Jon Golden. I have
been talking to Jon via e-mail for quite some time, but it was great getting
to see some of his stereo slides, they were some of the coolest slides I
have ever seen. I bought 10 boxes of RBT mounts from him and I also got one
of the RBT grab light viewers which by far is the best grab light viewer I
have come across.

The best slide shows were the "Meet Shilo" from list member and friend Shilo
Teshima, and the under water macro stereo show by Edward E. Jameson.

I am really looking forward to next year's convention in Washington. I just
hope for the people that are selling stuff, that more people show up wanting
to buy stuff than this year.

And yet my absolute best memory from the whole trip is of Jamie and I
absolutely freaking out at the sight of some of the strangest toys we have
ever seen, at the Strong Museum. I took a whole roll of macro stereo shots
of these strange and almost frightening toys, if any of the shots come out
well I will put them up at my web site.
