Is a film really released in "anaglyph" or "polarized"? Could it
be that two films are released and filters are put on projectors
according to what the theater owner wishes/can project? A theater
owner with a depolarizing screen would go for anaglyph and one
with a silver lenticular would tend toward polarized projection if
this is true. Of course the result wouldn't be as nice in
anaglyph, especially if it's a color film, but it might be the
theater owner's only choice. Of course if the print was a
vectograph or whatever they called that expensive polarized film
process, there'd be no choice. And if color was applied directly
to the film strips there would be no choice. I'm just curious.
Pure speculation.
