Of these, 13 Ghosts was not TECHNICALLY a 3D movie--its whimsical ghosts were
simply overprinted in red (or was it blue) on a black and white film, and could
be viewed or not, depending on the cowardice of the audience member, by watching
the film through a red or blue filter. The Mask and Paradisio were two among
several films which I have mentioned previously, which incorporated 3D anaglyph
sequences in otherwise "flat" movies. Usually the gimmick involved an on-screen
character using some kind of magic viewer, and when he looked through HIS
glasses, you'd look through yours to see the 3D scenes. I imagine these films
were done this way because anaglyph is such a poor system, even though it's so
easy to use.
