Colorist take-up spool

Hi all,

I seem to be experiencing the infamous Colorist II take up spool slippage
problem, where the spool and the spindle break loose. It doesn't start
slipping until around the 20th exposure. I've looked at the archives and
seen that this is a very common problem that different people have dealt
with in different ways. It seems rather daunting to take the camera apart
like some enterprising owners have done. Is it possible to just drill a
small hole into the spool (and the spindle underneath) and put in a small
flush mounted screw? If this isn't feasible for some reason, could anyone
give me step by step instructions for dealing with the problem?

Thanks,
Don
