Re: PHOTO-3D digest 1469
RE: John B. ASA flash connector. Predecessor to the PC Connection?
Nicht Wahr! John..or is it Au Contrare? The ASA bayonet I think is at
least contempory with the earliest PC contact, and was designed to be an
improvement, as not flimsey and fussy. But tiny is preferable to sturdy
I guess so the ASA didn't stick around. I think the ASA was only on post
war Medalists and Chevrons and Kodak Shutters. The German PC could have
been wartime or just prewar, but we didn't see it until afterward. (Like
the Leitz Summitar lens of 1940 was not seen here until 1946 or so.)
Being an original old fossil, I will have to repro some of the member
lists of McKay's Stereo Guild and PSA Stereo awards of the '50s to see
how many others are still around? BobH
(by the way PC is not personal computer but stands for Prontor-Compur
connection. More thought it meant pretty crummy!)
