This sounds very interesting indeed. Can you tell us: 

1) What auto-exposure camera was used? What's the lens focal 
length? What features does it have? Range of speeds, etc.? Autofocus?

2) Are the original warranties on the cameras still valid, or 
have they been modified in some way? (For example, how is the cable release installed? I haven't seen any inexpensive cameras that will accept a cable.)
