I've tried every solution short of letting someone chisel away at my cornea. My usual solution is to have a correction lens ground and mount it on the eyepiece. If the lens needs to be smaller than my local optician will
grind, I cut it to size. But I always mount it on the EYE side of the lens. This was a typo, right?
As a hint to anyone about to do this, have them put a mark or notch at the top of the vertical axis. This simplifies inserting and removing for cleaning or sharing.
