Re: MOUNTING

>In principle, it is easier to mount prints than slides simply because the prints are larger.

I have not tried mounting prints yet, but I suspect that many times they will not be vertically alligned as obtained right from the photo shop, requiring some careful horizontal trimming. Then once trimmed in attempt to set the Stereo Window, any bad vertical cuts can't be easily corrected (requiring starting over with at least one R or L print, or maybe both). Am I right?

I _would_ like to try mounting prints simply because observers (including me!) can obtain some pleasure in looking at them without having to use any equipment. (I'm amazed by the number of people who pick up the slide viewer in my office and say, "This looks interesting!", but NEVER put it to their eyes!)

Does anyone use a View Magic viewer to help mount prints? I'm thinking about cutting two tombstone-shaped (the classic stereocard image shape) openings in a piece of heavy paper in over/under configuration with the proper 4" center-to-center vertical spacing for a View Magic viewer, then laying the prints under their respective openings in this "mask" while viewing them with a View Magic viewer to test-check the Stereo Window, etc. before actually trimming the prints.

Comments? Other suggestions?

Of course I still need to find out what sort of mounts and adhesive to use to construct the final result...
