-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a review of the Kodalux processing lab in Dallas Texas.
They will develope and mount your Realist Stereo Slides.

I live around Dallas so I drove down there to get a look at them. It
is a huge building with a big twirling sign that says Qualex on one
side and Kodak Processing on the other. I must say that this is a
huge processing plant. Not some little rinky-dink lab some where.
They didn't have much customer parking. There was only about 10
spaces for visitors. The employee parking was fenced-off.
I entered their lobby and saw the recptionist.
Off to the right was a mini One Hour Photo Lab.
The man at the small Lab was very nice, and knowledgable about stereo
slides. I gave him my roll of 24 and told them to ship it to me when
they were done. It cost $4.99. I also picked up some Mailers for $4.99
each. A Mailer is just a paper type package addressed to the lab that
you put your film in after you've used it. It is a way to prepay your
processing and make things easy. I then went home and waited
anxiously for my slides (my first batch!) Three days later I got my
slides and was suprised how well they turned out! I was taking
pictures indoors and guessed at the f-stop and speed (having no meter
at that time -I do now). The colors were bright and sharp and
in-general, look much better than any prints I've seen. Never the
less, one or two of my pictures were a little overexposed. This was
strictly my fault!
Kodalux did a fine job mounting them (of course I have no projector
to really judge this by, just cheapo hand-held viewers). But for
$4.99 for a roll of 24 I'll let them do it for a while!
Overall, they were very nice, knowledgable about stereo slides, and
pretty fast (only 3 days). The quality looked good, at least with a
hand-held viewer, and for the price you can't beat it.
I am very pleased with their work and they will soon be getting allot
more of my business!

If your in Dallas they have their front entrance at 6300 Cedar
Springs. Manor Way is behind them and is used in their address for
shipping (ie. where the trucks deliver film I'm sure). they are
located right in front of Dallas Love Field Airport. Just go south
half a block instead of turning into the main entrance of the
airport. Their on the left and you can't miss them! Here is some info
for people who live in Dallas and want to visit them:

Kodak ExpresStop
6300 Cedar Springs
Dallas, Texas 75235
(214) 353-4595

Everyone else should use:

Kodalux Processing Services
3131 Manor Way
Dallas, Tx 75235
U.S.A.

P.S. As far as I know they only process REALIST STEREO SLIDES and
not other types. I think they do a pretty good job. I hope this helps
some of you!
