Tyco ... and a question which might be dumb

Hi All!
I'm truly pleased that the ire of our Listers (and Listerines) has been
risen to attack the Tyco company to bring back View Master to the serious
status it once held. I agree with every idea that's been voiced. Indeed,
adult interest, be it art, travelogue, science, sculpture, architecture and
yes, even nudies should be considered. Someone (I forget who) said that
the demise of View Master was moving it from home entertainment areas of
stores to toy departments was the main tragedy. Photo shops no longer
carry views or viewers. Let's band together and try to form an artistic
lobby and see what we might do. We must have a marketing expert among us.
There must be someone to show our good friend Jamie how to effectively
market his beautiful work to museum shops all over the world. What a crime
it is that those interested in Oriental art are unaware of the work this
magnificent young stereographer has put forth! Let's do it. Write!
E-Mail! Become annoying! Let's put stereo back into the viable
photographic mainstream. I'm certain if we band together it can be done.
Why should we be the only ones aware of the painstaking work of Dr. T.?
Why are we the only ones in awe of Jon Golden's incredible advances in
slide mounting? Why can't the photographic community, whose numbers are
legion be ripped off simply because they're unaware of the magic we can all
perform due to the amazing exchange of ideas read only here on P3D? Flat
photography is an art to be much admired, but admired as much as a well
recorded monaural recording. Its time we became a vocal force in the world
of picture taking. There are great thinkers among us. There are
theorists, daring inventors, unafraid experimenters. We have Mr. Lincoln
Kamm, the guy who doesn't know the meaning of "it can't be done". We have
Jamie, the poet of the double lens. Dr. T., the man who wants us all to
enjoy stereographic art to the fullest degree and tirelessly searches to go
even further, and isn't even satisfied with that. We have the Sells who
write, theorize and educate. We have Susan and David who get us everything
we need to progress our art and interest. My love, Dalia who supplies
history, information, and the best conversation all with love and
friendship. My friend Alexander Klein who showed me to love TruVue. We
are the underground with a magical message. Lobby Tyco. Make them work at
it. The worst that can happen is that they'll make more profits. We are
not a gimmick. We are not a novelty. We are serious artists and devotees
of art. (Yes, I'm angry).
Dumb Question(?): I, unfortunately do not own a View Master projector. As
soon as I think I can buy one, one of my kids needs a new pair of $100
sneakers, or something. (I adore my TDC, but need a VM). I am littered
with flat VM projectors (available at a plethora of yard sales). My stupid
question is: Which view does a flat VM projector show, and can one be
modified to show the other view? What I'm trying to do is use two VM flat
projectors fitted with Susan and David's polarizers and be used
conjunctively to project in stereo? Could this be a cheap and dirty way
out until my kids stop wanting hundred dollar sneakers? Any ideas? This
would make great use of all the duplicates we all have accumulated, and
double our purchases from our favorite dealers and Tyco too. Or is this a
dumb question? If it is, sorry!
Best,
Bob
