It's "3D Museum" by Makoto Shogaku,  ISBN 4-09-385515-3.  It was published
in Japan in '95 or '96.

It *is* magnificent (thanks for letting me see one Jon!).  Efforts to find
one have not been successful for me so far.

If anybody finds a source for these please let me know how to get one!!!!!!!
