This comment caught my eye, as well. Back in the '60s I took some classes in
cinema verite from Haskell Wexler, and he taught me the technique of keeping one
eye on the camera viewfinder and the other open on your surroundings (to avoid
falling over cliffs and into swimming pools) but I never got a 3D effect from
doing it. Guess I wasn't looking for it.
