Realist Format

  I would like to add a little to the discussion on Realist format. I love
my Realist 3.5 but I've often thought that even though this format works
very good, there are a few things that could be upgraded. For an improved
image quality , a retrofitable multicoated lens such as a Nikor, Cannon, or
Fuji. If they were designed to retrofit then one could install them at home
with the proper tools. With todays high speed film it could use a 1/400
second shutter speed. This may be even done with a little bit of metal work
and new springs. With these two modifications I could at least keep up to
the modern cameras in image quality. I think I could accept the Realist's
other shortcommings but to me image quality comes first. I'm not
complaining though, I will always have an old Realist camera.
