Our duliated (warranted) John B allows:

'Card boarding' is, of course, the condition whereby 3-D objects appear
to stand in planes as though they where 2-D cardboard cutouts. It is not
a problem inherent to holography or single lens 3-D (aperture encoded).

It is my belief, and contention, that 'card boarding' is due to retinal
rivalry. A rivalry caused by one frames view not sharing edge elements
from the other frames view.
