APS and 3D slides
It was noted that slide-APS film does not exist, and keeping it in the
cartridge is unacceptable for 3D...but wait. IF they do make slides, then
think of the implications. You could shot your roll of slides and get your
master crop-sheet back, Then, you could specify your favorite slide pairs,
in any order.
If they decide to make slide film, then they will have machinery to make
COPY-SLIDES! Your favorite roll of 3D could be used to send C O P I E S of
that great shot to a circuit today, and later (maybe in 10 years) to another
photographer. All from untouched, un-fingerprinted, un-faded slide originals
that are still safely in the canister. And, it would be pretty easy to make
the jump to a copy roll of your slides...that is to say, you specify the
order for the copy roll, and viola, a roll for your Tru-Vue, 3Discover, etc.
Plus, when they make copy slide equipment, maybe they'll allow 35mm
2x2's, or super slides. Plus...well you get the idea. The APS system should
offer lots of new advantixes for all 3D people.
Also, about the problem of getting the dealers to stock the new film and
cameras, you should read the vintage complaints when COLOR TV first came out
in 1954. Every TV/radio dealer in the country thought it was terrible, both
for inventory and for the customers who had bought B&W sets since the late
1930's! And the original system (CBS's color system) was not even compatible
with the old TVs!

P.S. Before we all talk about Kodak's system, 15 different companies (don't
have a clue which 15) have promised to produce film and/or cameras for the APS.
