Stuff snipped

->Another friend of mine has the Yashica RBT
->camera and loves it. He has not had any problems in the 3 years he
->has used it. He originally ordered the Ricoh RBT camera and sent it
->back because it did not work.

It's worth remembering that the Ricoh has spot metering. This has caused
a number of experienced stereophotographers using the RBT versions to
get uneven exposures until the spot metering was pointed out, and they
learned to use it properly... For what it's worth, David Burder told me
that he got uneven results with the Leica CL. I get even exposures with
mine, but I spot meter of part of the scene that reflects about 18%.

->I also use their slide mounts and I use their projector which I love.
Me too.

->I have given you some
->facts and my opinions. I am sure you can tell which is which. As to
->my recommendations, I would recommend RBT cameras to anyone who will
->use it enough to justify the expense. You need to have an
->understanding that they are custom cameras, which take a while to
->build. The people of RBT still have their day jobs, so you can't
->expect instant responses and results. I have visited their "factory"
->and had a wonderful visit. They are very nice good people. In
->addition I think they must be commended for their work and commitment
->to stereo photography. These people are not going to get rich from
->this when you see how much work goes into their equipment. They have
->an obvious love for stereo photography and I am grateful that they
->have made quality stereo photography equipment available to us.

->John Roll,Rockford, IL, USA

I'll second that. RBT and particularly Franz Almendinger and Echardt
Oemichon (sp?!) have done us all a huge favour by supporting stereo with
their efforts. If they'd only come up with the mounts it would be enough!
