High contrast slide film

 I thought I was the only one who wanted lower contrast slide film. Maybee
a lower contrast slide film wouldn't look as snappy but I sure could use
that lost detail in the shadows (instead of black shadows).
 Another idea which may or may not be a dumb one..... I wish someone would
invent a governer in the film chemistry that would limit the maximum EV
levels, something that would stop exposing after a certain light level so
one could photograph a scene with a very wide range (like dark shadows and
bright sunlight and expose for the darker parts of the scene). I'm sure it
would take some skill to use such a film but it would be usefull.
