On Allan Carrano's "inverse vignetting" problem:
   Another possibility (a long shot, though) is that the camera was focused
at the same distance as the objects at the edge of the frame, while the objects
at the center were at a different distance.  For example, if you've got a
person in the center of the frame who's 6 feet from the camera but the focus
is set at 25 feet, which happens to be the depth of some bushes at the edges
of the frame...
