Cheap LCD glasses for 3D displays and new LCDBIOS available

For the information of PHOTO-3D members I am cross posting this information
from homebrew-vr (home brew virtual reality) listserv news group:-
As you may know, Chinon is no longer producing their
Cybershades stereo shutter glasses. This is mixed news. The bad news
is that they will probably not be supported very well. The good news is
that they have now become a good source for inexpensive but high-quality
stereo glasses. They sure beat the old Sega glasses in terms of
performance. Also, since they ship with and work with LCDBios (the
standard DOS for stereo glasses), most new games will still work with
the Cybershades.
I saw the Cybershades listed in the most recent TigerDirect catalog
(800-888-4437) for $39.99.
Other close-out dealers like Damark might have even better deals...

LCDBIOS (Liquid Crystal Display Basic Input/Output System) Update available
This message is to inform users of LCDBios that a new version of LCDBios
(version 1.30) became avaliable in eary August, 1996. This version
contains only a few changes from the previous version (1.21). To
summarize the changes:
* Some more 3D-Max games (such as Magic Carpet and Hi-Octane) are now
partially supported.
* An /LCDPort no longer needs to be specified, for easier support
of glasses connected directly to the VGA card
* All parameters to /LCDRun may now be grouped together in quotes
(i.e., LCDBIOS /LPT1 /LCDCTL:31ceca00 "/LCDRUN:DESCENT -LCDBIOS" )
* VESA BIOS version now reported correctly
To download the new version of LCDBios or try the shareware version,
check out the LCDBios home page at
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~dsawdai/lcdbios.html
Remember, this upgrade is free to people who have registered LCDBios
previously.
For people also interested in including LCDBios support in their
programs, check out the LCDBios SDK on the LCDBios home page!
BTW, I am in no way affiliated with Chinon or TigerDirect.
