My second wedding

I just came back from shooting my second wedding. About a year ago I
shot the first one (check digests for discussion) with great results.

My attempts to photograph weddings and get paid have failed so far. It
must be a combination of things: Cost (I present this as a supplement
to regular 2D prints), novelty (people are conservative and hesitate to
try something new) and my inability to sell it (I basically do not care
much as I am very busy the way it is!)

So, I have decided that I might shoot one or two weddings a year as a
wedding present. This gives me the chance to do my favorite thing
(shooting 3D), perhaps end up with a few good pictures that I keep and,
at the end, I am having a pleasant evening and I don't even need to buy
a toaster!

This time I took lots of close-ups of people. Close-ups are very
effective in 3D. My favorite picture last time was a close-up of the
bride (shot at around 6 feet).

All the photography was done with a Realist 2.8 camera, Fuji Sensia 100
and a flash (indoors, it was raining all day here). At the reception I
sat at the same table with the photographer and brought my red button
and a selection of slides. Everybody loved the pictures, except for the
photographer! I think he only glanced at one picture for a brief second
and was not impressed. I don't know why. Maybe he did not even look.
Maybe he thought that anyone with anything less than a medium format
camera cannot possibly take good pictures. I really don't know...

I'll let you know how the pictures turn out! -- George
