->As the manufacturer of EMDE stereomounts, I am really at a crossroads

Dennis

First of all, I'd like to thank you for keeping the EMDE mount alive -
though I've never used them! Living in the UK, I was brought up on the
products from Folkestone - I used Hawk projectors, Albion mounts and an
Albion mounting jig.

Now I'm getting lazy and I like the convenience of the RBT projectors
with the RBT mounts. I find that ALL other types of mount are unreliable
for automatic transport, though they can be hand fed.

My system tends to be to use Albion foils for temporary storage of
chips, then the worthwhile ones are transferred to RBT mounts. Finally
they are assembled into AV shows and stored in RBT trays.

So my main mount criterion is that they auto transport in the RBT
projector! Oh, and I use a variety of mount apertures from Nimslo to 7-P
for my Belplasca shots.

Actually, I don't use HUGE amounts of mounts, and the Albion's get
re-cycled. I believe the EMDE mounts are fabricated from thinner foil
than the Albions, but are used doubled? Consequently, they are useful
for masking RBT mounts? If so, perhaps you could contact RBT with a view
to offering masks that would work with the RBT system...

To clarify that last bit, there are times when you can't use the RBT pin
bars - e.g. twin camera rigs with vertical errors, chips from home-made
cameras using medium format film, copies of old stereo cards etc. I
would like a thin foil that works in an RBT mount that I can tape the
chips to... Apertures to reduce the height, for instance, would be
useful. Albion foil is too thick, by the way - it fouls the automatic
functions of the RBT projector...

Hope this helps

Best Wishes
