This is definitely the easiest way to make them if you want all planar &
frontoparallel objects.
If you have access to any kind of simple programming language (e.g. BASIC
or MATLAB), the algorithms for generating these things are very simple,
particularly if you want to do something that can be described as a
depth-map of a mathematical function...
